Team of salespeople. Friends of Dawn Mucci and their children are getting hyped up over the giant Gilford garage sale scheduled for Saturday, Apr. 19.

Several streets in Gilford will be the scene of a gigantic garage sale Saturday, Apr. 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
About 40 homeowners on Everton Drive, Vernor Drive, Golf View, Lakeshore Boulevard, Parkview Drive, Acres Street and Northshore Drive are taking part, Dawn Mucci says.
“It’s a chance to clear out unused or unneeded items as well as trying to raise funds for some much needed playground equipment at Killarney Beach Public School,” Mucci says. “The schoolyard needs fencing in the play area and some sod, too.”
Participants are being asked to contribute a small portion of their proceeds towards the fundraiser.
A four-woman committee of Mucci, Carolyn Mortlock, Lynn McDonald and Linda McCorriston delivered hundreds of flyers around town to promote the event.
Community response has been gratifying, she says.
“We’ve had people donate items and say, ‘Just keep the cash for the school.’ It’s wonderful,” Mucci says.
Everyone is welcome. Mucci says since the Everton Drive bridge is now closed for renovations, shoppers can enter Gilford by coming down the 2nd Line and then follow the “Detour 1” signs posted throughout the village.
If necessary, the rain date for the sale is Saturday, Apr. 26.
Donations from residents and businesses are welcome, too. Call Mucci at 456-2555.
