Recently, the Innsifil Lions presented their annual Effective Speaking Contest.

The event is held to provide an opportunity for effective speaking and to stimulate self-expression with independent thinking among area students. As in previous years, the speakers amazed listeners with well-researched subjects and the clarity of their dramatic presentations.

The winner for 2008 was Nikolai Colleti of Holy Cross Public School. Marika Wisch of Innisfil Central was a close second, with Sunnybrae’s Jaxon Brennan coming in third. Colleti and Wisch will now compete in the area finals in Barrie.
