History is being brought to life at the Simcoe County Museum this Saturday.

The Simcoe County Arts & Crafts Association has organized the Heritage Textile Day during which time visitors will not only be able to watch demonstrations of traditional arts being made, they can give them a try.

There will be people spinning, weaving, quilting, stitching, rug hooking and knitting at the museum and there will be an opportunity to sign up for classes to learn these hand crafts that will run on Saturdays in April.

The event runs between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Visitors can also enter a draw to win a free course, and there is a door prize of a one-year membership to the Simcoe County Arts and Crafts Association.

Admission to the museum that day is free.

The museum is located on Highway 26, just north of Barrie.
