You can welcome the New Year at any number of entertainment locations and restaurants throughout Barrie on Monday evening, or you can opt to attend the city’s free Downtown Countdown.
The 10th annual event is the largest free party in central Ontario and features horse-drawn wagon rides, skating at City Hall, a midway, pony rides, face painting, and a great entertainment line-up with headliners April Wine.
The event includes fireworks for the kids at 7:45 p.m. and the traditional midnight fireworks show as the big kids welcome the arrival of 2008.
