Re: Councillor wants curfew on youth, Sept. 7

Councillor Bill Pring wants a curfew to curtail partying and vandalism.

While both issues do impact on our community, I don’t believe a curfew will solve the problem.

This suggestion to jail our youth for being outdoors after 11 p.m. and have their parents retrieve them is not realistic and not enforceable.

I do not want tax dollars wasted pursuing a motion, which is a headline-grabbing, unrealistic solution.

Please do not waste council’s time.

As an aside, we know our youth won’t be walking down St. John’s Road because there is still no sidewalk — now there is an issue worth pursuing.
