Registration for kindergarten programs at Simcoe County District School Board starts Feb. 1.

The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) created a short video to help parents and children through the transition into the kindergarten years.

The eight-minute video is called Welcome to a Wonderful Journey of Learning and was produced entirely in-house with Barrie North Collegiate Institute's communication technology program students and board staff.

Trillium Woods Elementary School in Barrie provides the backdrop for the video that gives an overview of kindergarten programming and sketches out what kids need to bring with them to school, what parents can expect from home and school communication and more.

All children who were four years old by Dec. 31 are eligible for registration in the SCDSB's 2010-2011 kindergarten program.
