The Innisfil Journal has learned that Innisfil CAO Larry Allison has tendered his resignation.
Allison met with Mayor Brian Jackson Friday morning (June 26) to give him the news.
“It’s a shock,” said Deputy Mayor Gord Wauchope. “We’re in a predicament all around with the talks going on about Barrie and Innisfil.”
Allison was the point man on Innisfil’s Fair Growth campaign and was the town’s liason with the province over Barrie’s annexation.
Wauchope said Allison has accepted a position with a municipality in the Kincardine area where he has built a house.
“His mom and dad live out there and I think he just wanted to go out there,” Wauchope said.
Allison will continue on with the town until the end of July, Wauchope said. He will then be on paid leave for the month of August.
He’s the second high-ranking bureaucrat to leave Innisfil this year. Town treasurer Ian Goodfellow accepted a post with the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury two months ago.
