Re: Discount doesn’t impact subsidies, May 21 letter by Paul Robinson

I think Paul Robinson is missing the point. The issue is not the subsidy to individuals or families who want to join the YMCA. It is the 40 per cent discount given to one group of persons because they happen to work for the Town of Innisfil.
I’m sure there are many employees who can afford to pay the full cost of the membership and I have not heard or read of one good reason why this discount was and still is offered to town employees.
As a taxpayer in Innisfil, shouldn't I be offered a discount as well? I hope this issue gets resolved soon and it isn't a detriment to the future reputation of the YMCA.
