The first two weeks of the South Simcoe Police Service’s RIDE program has seen three impaired charges.
As of Sunday, Dec. 7, officers conducted 15 roadside alcohol-screening tests. Six 12-hour suspensions were issued, along with two administrative license suspensions.
Police have laid two impaired driving charges as well as a single impaired driving by drug charge. Police discovered 18 infractions of the Highway Traffic Act. Police also stopped a driver whose licence was under suspension.
Police laid charges under the controlled drugs and substances act.
Sgt. Bob Eeles of the Traffic and Marine Unit says police will continue to be diligent in trying to apprehend anyone driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
