One of the men charged in David Virgoe’s death is back behind bars.
Prabhjit Multani is facing charges of criminal negligence (street racing), dangerous driving criminal negligence (street racing), and dangerous driving in the death of the Innisfil trucker.
Virgoe was killed last June after his transport truck was clipped by another car on Highway 400.
Multani is believed to have been street racing when the collision occurred.
After being charged last year, he was released on $80,000 bail. His mother acted as his surety and was to make sure he complied with his bail conditions.
But two months ago, Multani was re-arrested by police for breaching his bail conditions. Officers said he was behind the wheel again, and a judge decided Friday to keep him behind bars. Multani is expected to make a court appearance at the end of August in relation to the original charges.
Nauman Nusrat and Ravi Badhwar were also charged in connection to Virgoe’s death. Nusrat was before a judge in June and was handed two years of house arrest for his part in the crime. The Crown Attorney's office is appealing Nusrat’s sentence.
