Two children were struck by a slow-moving delivery truck in a parking lot at the Cookstown Outlet Mall Wednesday afternoon.

An eight-year-old girl and 10-year-old boy were taken to Royal Victoria Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to South Simcoe Police.

They were playing in a playground at the Highway 400 and County Road 89 shopping centre at about noon when the children and a parent decided to go back into the mall.

The parent and another child stopped to cross a parking lot, but the two other children walked directly in front of the truck, police say.
