A 23-year-old Innisfil man was plucked from Lake Simcoe early Saturday morning after a car went through a barrier on Gilford Road and plunged into the water.
The driver had to be treated for minor hypothermia at the scene at about 2:30 a.m. after his car was partially submerged in the cool water.
South Simcoe Police are still trying to determine why the car smashed through the barrier at the end of the road.
A 23-year old Innisfil man is charged with careless driving.
Bicycle cops catch burglars
South Simcoe Police bicycle cops caught some burglars in the act at about 11 p.m. Friday.
While patrolling Alcona businesses, the officers saw three youths trying to break into a store.
The suspects were arrested without incident and taken to the North Division station in Barclay.
Three youths, all aged 17, were charged with break and enter. They appear in Barrie court Aug.5.
