Unfortunately, impaired driving arrests aren’t rare for South Simcoe Police.
But a case that led to an impaired charge Friday night was a little more unusual than most.
A citizen reported a possible drunk driver to police at about 11 p.m. The suspect vehicle was easy to spot.
Officers pulled over a CASE backhoe travelling west on Conc. 9 near Yonge Street. The driver, a 43-year-old Barrie man, was charged with impaired driving and driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood.
Police had the backhoe towed from the scene.
