South Simcoe Police charged a 26-year-old Angus woman with extortion after her ex-husband was threatened with being targeted by a false allegation.
According to police, a woman told her ex-husband she would report him to police if he didn’t give her money.
Police said the woman also communicated with her ex-husband despite being ordered not to.
She is charged with two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking and two counts of extortion.
The woman turned herself into police May 12.
