Ellen Molloy, 11, collects another signature for a petition calling on Innisfil Council to save a heritage home from demolition.

Ellen Molloy, 11, was upset when a developer demolished an old stone farmhouse near her home April 2.
“My view of my world has changed. I can no longer see the beautiful old stone house up the road while looking out my kitchen window,” Ellen wrote in a letter The Journal last month.
Now she wants to help make sure another heritage house near her 20th Sideroad home, called The McConkey House, doesn’t taste the same fate.
So Ellen decided to do something about it.
She set up a display in the lobby of Sobey’s in Alcona for two hours Saturday and started collecting signatures for a petition.
“I hope the same fate doesn’t happen to the other old house.”
The signatures Ellen collected will be added to those on a town wide petition started by Patti Bentley and Marg Mossman. The petition calls for the Town to preserve the 150-year-old home. That petition will be presented to Council Wednesday May 7.
