Two of the men appeared in Barrie court this week, charged in an alleged street-racing incident two months ago in which an Innisfil truck driver lost his life.
Prabhjit Multani, 20, of Etobicoke, and Ravi Badhwar, 21, of Mississauga, will re-appear in court Sept. 12, to help fix a trial date. A third man, Nauman Nusrat, 20, of Etobicoke will be back Thursday via video remand. He is being held without bail at the Central North Correctional Centre in Penetanguishene.
All three face a variety of charges, including criminal negligence causing death by street racing, in connection with the death of David Virgoe, 48.
Virgoe had to swerve his truck to avoid three drivers, dodging in and out of northbound traffic – at high speed – on Highway 400 June 18, left the road and rolled into a ditch.
