A man charged in the death of an Innisfil trucker has been granted bail.

Ravi Badhwar, 21 and studying at Humber College on a student visa, will be back in Barrie court next Monday (Aug. 27).  Badhwar and two other men face a variety of charges, including criminal negligence causing death by street racing, in connection with a June 18 pileup on Highway 400.

Police say three drivers were weaving in and out of northbound traffic at high speed, causing David Virgoe, 48, to swerve his truck to avoid them. Virgoe died soon after his rig slid through the centre median, jackknifed and crashed into a ditch around Highway 89.

Badhwar’s co-accused, Prabhjit Multani, 20, will also be back in court on Monday. Another man, Nauman Nusrat, also 20, will re-appear via video remand on Aug. 30.
