The wins bring the Hornets record to 13-1 for the season.
Friday’s game against the Shamrock’s started in Alliston’s favour in the first when Kyle McPherson took the feed from Aaron Maltais to give the Hornets an early lead.
Kurtis Brossard followed up catching Erin goaltender, Colin Baird, down on the ice and chipping a shot to the top of the net to give the Hornets a two goal lead.
After a scoreless second period, Zenon Byblow put the cap on the win scoring twice in the third to give Alliston their 13th win and Hornets goaltender Jon Porretta the shutout.
The Sunday game against Stayner started with a strong presence by both teams and an outstanding effort by both Siskin’s goalie, Brad Kuzmich, and Alliston’s, Troy Dowswell.
By the second period the Hornets had worn down the Siskins defence and peppered Kuzmich with a barrage of shots.
McPherson and Brossard got the points for scoring in the first period.
Cole Parker got the lone Alliston goal during the second period.
The Alliston kept up the pressure in the third and took total command of the ice scoring five more before the buzzer sounded.
Eric Shannon and Ryan Algar both got a goal with McPherson and Brossard each picking up a second for the game.
Thomas Faris got the final late in the third during a two on one in the Siskins end.
Hornet forward, Algar, said the Siskins played well going into the game but lost some steam near the end.
“I thought they played really well for the first couple of periods but after we got a few goals it opened it up. We put our speed up front and wore their defence down.”
Algar credits a strong defence and good goalies for the two weekend shut-outs.
“We’re strong in the back end and our goalies have played really well.”
The Hornets go on the road this week to face the Cougars in Schomberg on Thursday with an 8:15 p.m. start at Schomberg arena.
They return to home ice for two more games this weekend.
On Fri., Nov. 9, they face the Midland Flyers with the puck drop scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
They play a second game on Nov. 11, against Stayner at 6:30 p.m.
